To support the systematic development of civil servants’ AI competencies to align with current industry demands, the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA) is promoting the “Civil Service Core AI Competencies Certification.”
Below is everything you need to know about this initiative:
🌟 Highlights:
- 70/30 dual-track model: Combines existing industry certifications (70%) with tailored public service knowledge (30%).
- Topic-based question bank: Covers AI policies and legal frameworks, sensitive data protection, cybersecurity risk management, and AI-related ethical norms.
- Seamless WebHR Sync: Certification results will be automatically synchronized with the WebHR system—ensuring certified personnel an edge in agency performance evaluation, promotion, and career opportunities.
📅 Key Timeline:
June 2026: DGPA announced the first list of approved partner institutions on its website under the “AI Talent Development Office” section.
September 30, 2026: Every approved partner institution shall administer at least one certification exam by Sep. 30, 2026.
⌛ Validity & Renewal
Each certificate remains valid for two years, and the issuing institution shall contact its owner six months prior to its expiry date for the renewal procedure.
