Civil Service Core AI Competencies Certification Exam to Be Launched in September 2026

To support the systematic development of civil servants’ AI competencies to align with current industry demands, the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA) is promoting the “Civil Service Core AI Competencies Certification.”

 

Below is everything you need to know about this initiative:

 

🌟 Highlights:

  1. 70/30 dual-track model: Combines existing industry certifications (70%) with tailored public service knowledge (30%).

 

  1. Topic-based question bank: Covers AI policies and legal frameworks, sensitive data protection, cybersecurity risk management, and AI-related ethical norms.

 

  1. Seamless WebHR Sync: Certification results will be automatically synchronized with the WebHR system—ensuring certified personnel an edge in agency performance evaluation, promotion, and career opportunities.

 

📅 Key Timeline:

June 2026: DGPA announced the first list of approved partner institutions on its website under the “AI Talent Development Office” section.

 

September 30, 2026: Every approved partner institution shall administer at least one certification exam by Sep. 30, 2026.

 

⌛ Validity & Renewal

Each certificate remains valid for two years, and the issuing institution shall contact its owner six months prior to its expiry date for the renewal procedure.
